Hair design, barbering, and esthetics are a large — and growing — industry. New salons, barbershops, and spas open every day and are in need of talented and knowledgeable team members. The College of Hair Design will prepare you for the exciting career opportunities that are waiting for you.
Many of our graduates begin their careers as hair designers, barbers, nail technicians, hair color technicians, make-up artists, licensed estheticians, product representatives, or assistants to dermatologists. Armed with business operating skills learned at the College of Hair Design, many have also gone on to open their own salons.
After gaining valuable experience, graduates often move into a more advanced position, such as salon owner, professional salon consultant, make-up artist for television & movies, hair designer for magazine fashion models, cosmetic beauty advisor, or instructor.
As a graduate of the College of Hair Design you will be considered one of the finest trained professionals in the industry. We look forward to helping you make your dreams come true.
The College of Hair Design offers job placement assistance to graduates and alumni. We maintain close associations with local firms, as well as with companies throughout the Midwest. Recommendations for job placements are also provided by the school and are based on the overall performance of the student.
As part of their training, students prepare resumes and practice interviewing techniques. Job fairs are also held at the school. During such events, salon owners and managers have opportunities to interview students individually. Students are scheduled to meet with as many prospective employers as they wish.
Students must understand that, by law, no school can guarantee employment upon graduation. However, it is the goal of the College of Hair Design to help students to be successful, to complete their programs, and to graduate as professionals.
