Demo days are a big part of what we do here at CHD. We try to expose our students to product knowledge and skills they can take with them to the shop and salon and have an awesome career. September has been a busy month. We had sales picks on the first Wednesday where our students were recognized for the awesome job they have done in applying the Prosper U techniques taught at CHD. Picks gives students a chance to win cash and prizes for their performance the previous month.
September 13 we had Andis Lead Educator Kenny Duncan come to both Downtown and East Campus to provide clipper education. Kenny is a nationally known barber, stylist, educator, and salon owner. Kenny is the barber for several Grammy Award winning artists and has toured the world as the barber for the Lady Gaga’s production team. Kenny has also styled for major motion films such as “Fantastic Four” and “Creed” starring Michael B. Jordan. He has been the co-owner of a well-known 14 chair salon called Main Attraction Unisex Salon for 11 years and has educated for the Andis Company for 10 years. Kenny is known for his contribution of inspiration, education, & motivation to the barber industry as apart of MLB, Xotics, Andis, &. Kenny Duncan is currently the Lead Educator for Andis and has recently developed hand crafted wooden razor holders. Kenny was a big hit with both our cosmetology and barbering students.
September 21 we had Lindsay Hurtz from She hair Extensions in to teach our cosmetology students a class on hair extensions. She is also going to teach a full day class open to stylists at our East Campus location in October. Arthur Lyle was in to teach our barbers a drop fade class with some futuristic styles and techniques. Arthur returns to the school regularly to teach, he is a Master Barber with over 12 years experience, and the Vice President of the State of Nebraska Board of Barber Examiners. Arthur owns a shop in Omaha, Lyle Stylez & Cutz is very active in his community he shares his passion for hair and community involvement with our students.
The College of Hair Design continues to search out and obtain “Cutting Edge” educators for our students to provide the foundation for a successful career in barbering and cosmetology.
