The College of Hair Design, founded in 1960 by Al Howard, began as the Lincoln Barber College inspired by his Navy barbering experience. Over the decades, under the stewardship of Al and later his son Greg Howard, the college evolved into a leading institution for cosmetology, barbering, and esthetics. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, the college has grown to two campuses, offering comprehensive training and career development. Today, it continues to honor the legacy of both Al and Greg by empowering students with the skills and business acumen needed for success in the beauty industry. In 2024, the College of Hair Design joined the Douglas J family of beauty schools, benefiting from being part of a nationwide, well-established, and respected group that offers enhanced resources, expanded networking opportunities, and a broader platform for educational excellence.
